From The London Telegraph by way of ThinkProgress.org:
Maj Gen Taguba, who retired in January 2007, said he supported the President’s decision, adding: “These pictures show torture, abuse, rape and every indecency. [...]
Among the graphic statements…is that of Kasim Mehaddi Hilas in which he says: “I saw [name of a translator] ******* a kid, his age would be about 15 to 18 years. The kid was hurting very bad and they covered all the doors with sheets. Then when I heard screaming I climbed the door because on top it wasn’t covered and I saw [name] who was wearing the military uniform, putting his **** in the little kid’s ***…. and the female soldier was taking pictures.” [...]
Three detainees, including the alleged victim, refer to the use of a phosphorescent tube in the sexual abuse and another to the use of wire, while the victim also refers to part of a policeman’s “stick” all of which were apparently photographed.
Now the “kid” in the above example was male, as was the translator who was allegedly busting up his bowels.
Also from The Daily Beast:
A senior military officer familiar with the photos told me that they would likely provoke a storm of outrage if released. … Some show U.S. personnel engaged in sexual acts with prisoners and each other. In one, a female prisoner appears to have been forced to expose her breasts to be photographed. In another, a prisoner is suspended naked upside down from the top bunk of a bed in a stress position. [...]
Still other withheld photographs have been circulating among U.S. soldiers who served in Iraq. One soldier showed them to me, including a photograph in which a male in a U.S. military uniform receives oral sex from a female prisoner.
So the decision that Barack made to block the release of these photos is a little more justified. No matter how many “My Bad”’s you issue after revealing that your government condoned and permitted sexual assault on male and female (sometimes underage) detainees in your charge, you are going to have a tough time “focusing on the future” without answering calls to prosecute military and CIA personnel and also civilian contractors. I really don’t think that there’s any way around prosecutions and further investigations, because I think that there isn’t way to ignore this any further. I read a story yesterday that said essentially Maliki was briefed on these photos and stated, “Bagdad will burn” if the world were to see these images. Releasing the photos without any actions taken to apprehend or answer to the crimes these images depict would probably rush the United States out of the region much sooner than planned, for good or for ill. The longer Obama hesitates to sort out these crimes and bring perpetrators/planners/instigators to justice the more he is complicit in the coverup.

What the fuck good is the Oversight Committee if they can’t fight this bullshit? I can’t be any more frustrated at this process and it’s truly amazing that these fucktards can get away with doing exactly what Scooter Libbey was convicted of doing, namely obstruction of justice.
They can just make up some horseshitting excuse why they cannot provide key evidence to an ongoing congressional investigation and NOTHING HAPPENS.
The decision by the White House to refuse to honor the subpoena from Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman’s House Oversight and Government Reform Committee for Cheney’s interview was hardly unexpected, given the administration’s history of fiercely protecting presidential prerogatives. What was surprising to some legal scholars was the basis for shielding the FBI interview report. It was covered, Mukasey said, by what he called “the law-enforcement component of executive privilege.”
“As far as I know, this is an utterly unprecedented executive-privilege claim,” said Peter Shane, an Ohio State University law professor who is an expert on executive privilege and separation-of-powers issues. “I’ve never heard this claim before.”

For those not in the know, Oliver Stone is currently making a biopic about George Walker Bush, our current Commander-in-Chief, and 43rd President of the United States of America.
I can’t wait for this fucking movie to be released! Josh Brolin, playing the title lead, TOTALLY looks the part. I’ll post some pics below as well as the official movie poster which was released today! You can also check out the IMDB page here for a cast listing.

You may not be able to tell from the extremely brief story at CNN and other sites, but here’s the report from the office of the Investigator General of NASA regarding the coercive impact of “Political Appointees” on the direction and desemination of Global Climate Change (See Global Warming) research.
This details just a portion of the damage that a bunch of political hacks with no more specialized job experience than a trainee at Wendy’s can do to the country if things don’t change. The response to Katrina was a direct result of a poorly selected appointee who had just left a highly relevant position at the International Arabian Horse Association prior to being in charge of NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE AND RECOVERY DEPARTMENT. Can’t you see the tie-in there? Michael Brown was forced to resign from baiting horse humpers, so he would of course be perfect to look after our safety after an act of God.
That aside, what possible benefit would there be to prevent a study on global climate change for fuck’s sake? Not to diminish the subject matter, but what negative consequence to the Bush administration, or more specifically to these appointees would there be if an accurate and honest study was conducted? I can think of only two affects. One, if it was shown that the majority of this global shift in climate was man-made, this would probably lead to tougher environmental restrictions on big industry. All the republican hard-liners who deny that there is a link between our carbon emissions and the global climate, purely because it hurts their bottom line, and the bottom line of their financial backers would want to deep 6 any breath of this reality. Two, loyalists of the Bush administration policies which are obviously the product of point One, would prevent this information from coming solely because it refutes the words of their great leader. Since most of the jackassed appointees wouldn’t be able to support themselves without the helping hand of the powers that be, their very careers depend on lock-step allegiance to the cause.
Point two is the most troubling because it means a majority of the most powerful seats in our bureaucracy are filled by desperate yes-men without scruples or regard for anyone else, at least, anyone but those in the party. The party and their networking has got them a sweet deal. They get a good paycheck and a great resume after their time is up, and like the clock-watching employee who was brought into the company with the help of powerful friends, he/she’s hoping that the phone doesn’t ring. The moment it does you’ll probably have another Katrina, or maybe a war with Iran.
Editor’s Note:
Just so you know, the CNN article looked like this yesterday, when I started this post.

I hope someone finally roasts this fat-ass, criminal, shit-burger on the grill. He’s basically had his attorney send in polite little refusals to appear, even stating that he would reply to the inquiry via written letters, but while he would like the benefit of being able to take the time to trick-fuck congress with his pen, it looks like he’s finally going to appear before the House Judiciary Committee and be forced to explain his many crimes.
Turning the Department of Justice into a political engine to move all of the administrations criminal acts underground while suppressing rational and dissenting views through firings or transfers, as well as eviscerating former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman through trumped up charges and what can only be viewed as a complete corruption of the entire judicial, legislatorial, and executive body of that state, are just a few of the actions that Rove must account for. Conyers himself is excited (and rightfully so) to prosecute this jagoff to the fullest extent of his authorityl stating recently that they needed to “kick Rove’s ass”.

I’m not sure if anyone has heard of the Liberty City 7 “Terrorist Group”, but if you want a rock solid example of the evils of Homegrown terrorism, look no further.
Behold! I give you a group of seven homeless guys whose deviance and criminal mastery know no peer. The FBI actually has video-taped proof that these jihadists have not only sworn allegiance to al Qaeda but also promised to take photos of buildings that would be considered targets for future attacks. The only problem is that the al Qaeda contacts were paid FBI informants who promised the “Liberty City 7″ brand new hiking boots if they complied.
What the fuck is wrong with our government right now? Jesus Fucking Tits! Since we already know that bums will fight each other on camera as well as pull their own teeth out if it gets them some food, drugs, or booze, why the fuck would we believe that they wouldn’t swear allegiance to al Qaeda, for Fuck’s Sake!
These FBI agents could have walked up to any homeless guy worth his salt in lunacy and offer them clothes and camera in exchange for some words. The fact that they are still trying convict these guys is bad enough. We, as tax payers, are fitting the bill for those bullshit, show-trials. Anything that the government can do to try and prove that they haven’t been thumbing their asses for the last 7 years
Makes me fucking SICK
