Archive for the Maintenance Category

This is a test of the native WordPress utility for the iPhone and iPod touch. So far it seems to run really quick and maintain a lot of essential features, all for the sweet one-time price of…free. ;)

In an effort to further streamline the site, I’ve come up with graphics for the arousal scale, using degrees cropped from the original podcasts. Nothing is set in stone, and if any degree offends, just say something.

Hello there ladies and gentlemen. I’m posting this to everyone in general because I feel that I need some input on how to arrange the categories on the site.

Categories are organizational names for grouping like posts, and as these categories can be nested we should decide on a hierarchy to follow moving forward.

I would like to start using the Tags feature of these posts to display a tag cloud on the front page. Now, WordPress allows a one-way conversion from Category to Tag for those categories we currently use that don’t fit a broad subset of posts, but more an exact description of the posts content (such as School Shooting, or NIU).

Another task would be to standardize categorization and tagging. We have two categories right now that basically mean the same thing (correction: 3). We have Movie, Movies, and Film Review. I think we should decide which category with remain, or perhaps should we have a broad category Movies, with a Sub Category for Film Reviews (or just Reviews).

What do you think?

Sitting in a hotel room in Appleton, Wisconsin, I came up for an idea for something to add to the website. While simple in idea, it may or may not be easy to implement, and by no means is it worth spending dosh on (this means you Beard). A few years ago, Redscape and I started a pass-around story, where one of us would write a few pages, then stop in mid-thought and email it to the other to continue. The story started out interesting and fresh, but quickly derailed when we got to a critical plot point (who knew?). Would something like this be simple to implement on the blog? We could make it as simple as just uploading the story to the file transfer page and continue it around. To speed things up, we’d have to limit the writing each person could do to 1/2 a page or so, and try to keep it so each person will have the story for a day, then pass it on. What do chall think? Dumb or not?

BTW - Beardo, the Desksite project animations are fuckin great.

Redscape is in the hizzouse boi!!

Watch this space for quality movie reviews coming soon…

Here’s a test entry from Casa El Pasa Del Perrio.

Hopefully this post will appear on the website without my having to synchronize with Blogger.com using RapidWeaver.

As far I know we should be able to add images and movies to these posts and they should show up in the RSS feed provided by the rapidweaver site.

Hello again all.

Hopefully I will have no problems posting a new page or a new image to the layout. There has been problems with this utility and aligning images for word wrapping, but that may be my fault for being so inept in using HTML….hence RapidWeaver.
