The potential uses, and more importantly the abuses, of this technology are astounding.

Yeah this is some pretty badass shit. If I remember correctly Microsoft had bought up some company awhile back that had technology similar to this. They were also planning on releasing software that could take a 2D picture, cross-reference it in real-time with any online information regarding the contents of the scene, then render a fully 3D version. So basically, let’s say for example, you could stand at the intersection of 30 and 41 and take a 2D pic facing north, process the pic through this software and it will return a completely accurate 3D version of the spot containing all directions complete with building and everything. \
Pretty effed the eff up.
