That’s right kiddies Monty Oum (creator of Haliod) is at it again this time with the follow up sequel to Dead Fantasy, pitting the super sassy woman of Dead or Alive against those of Final Fantasy. If you though episode I was full of action wait until you see the shit that happens this time around. Oum throws in everything but the kitchen sink. My favorite bit is the Drunken Boxing from Tifa on the FF squad. All in all tho another very satisfying vid from Mr. Oum.

Oh yeah P.S. – Apparently there are 5 more vids to come in this series. Can’t fuckin wait. Also if you haven’t already seen it, check out part 1 here.

Meh…maybe I’m getting old, but this doesn’t really do anything for me. It’s like sitting down to watch 6 people play Smash Brothers for about 10 minutes too long.

Yep. This game fails to impress. I may have liked this game when I was in 7th grade, when I was in the prime in terms of battling out the “what’s better?” with Trauer.

hmmm, tough crowd I guess. Also Crates it’s actually not a game but a movie a guy made. He basically creates each frame by hand then renders and combines them. Pretty impressive work for a 1 man band I’d say, especially given the complexity of the animation and shit in these videos.

Did he specifically say that he ‘creates’ each frame by hand? That doesn’t make much sense given the ability of today’s computer animation software. I think it more likely that he animates it all, but renders it out frame by frame to probably TIF’s or some other hi-res files, then uses some kind of compositor. We did similar shit at Purdue. Doing it this way makes it easier to composite lighting and effects into your shit, and green screen stuff.

The technical achievement of this guy’s videos is fantastic, but the subject matter makes me wanna go watch me some Brad Neely.

Yeah, you’re the animation guru so I’m sure you’re right on that front. I guess it just comes down to personal taste. For my money I enjoy these vids and wish we could get some high octane action sequences similar to these in today’s effects laden movies. A good example in my mind is the end of Matrix Reloaded or Revenge of the Sith. I would have been badass I think to have had several characters fighting at once like this “Ballroom Blitz” style.

We all know the Star Wars movies failed on many levels, not just fight sequences.

I really like the creativity in the fight scenes, camera angles, and animation in the 3 movies I’ve seen from this guy. My only problem with this particular series is that I’ve never drank the FF kool aide and subsequently have no appreciation for their characters or the games themselves. The FF story just seems like so much bullshit, with every game seemingly a different time, and seemingly a different universe. There are probably like 30 FF games and spin offs that it takes a real dedicated fan to make heads or tails of the whole thing. I watched someone play a couple of the PS2 FF games and I seriously wanted to pick-axe my face. You walk two feet, then a extreme prolonged and repetitive combat sequence ensues. I see a similar problem with this video. It’s also a similar phenomenon in general anime like Dragon Ball. The moves keep getting bigger and bigger but don’t really make a difference in the long run of the scene/story.

In this video the chick with the wings fires a huge energy beam on all of the “Team Ninja Crew” that was so massive it scores the earth. But they’re all standing and fine the next second. Same with the gun chick who drops a massive series of blasts on the DOA girls, damaging the bridge, but the girls are fine and don’t fight any less hard. After a while you just get “special move fatigue”. It’s really a shitty anime tactic to build up phony suspense (phony because the event doesn’t matter, just looks pretty).

Cool video, and action packed, but I’m not sure if I could follow 5 more episodes if its really not going anywhere. lol

Completely agree with yeh, JT. No matter how devastating the moves look, there’s no discernible damage to these hoes.

Maybe they enabled the GOD cheat?
