Ok, I’m scratching the existing Flash player in favor of one less flexible but also less dependent on my home machine. The existing player was using a server app called DOT.TUNES to not only allow me to share my itunes library to specific users but also manage what playlists or artists or files they could see. It works great, but the problem is I have no upstream capability being as that I run via comcast.
I found a nice freeware mp3 player which will play web server hosted files. the only catch is that the file that determines what will play is a flat XML file with no automatic way of inputting track filenames or ID3 tags. Oh well…
Next up, I’ve added a photo goodie to the sidebar area. Now this is drawing content from a .Mac photo library that I’ve setup through my account. Now I can send photos to this online album from my photo via email, and I understand that other users should be able to do the same. So if this works right (and I’ll give you guys the information to send photos) you all should be able to post funny/insulting/crazy photos and it will add itself to the gallery.
To summarize:
1. New Flash-based MP3 player
2. New email submission animated photo gallery
